Personal Projects: Wounded

I visit wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Medical Center. The extent of the damage was often severe. It is hard to explain in words the kinds of trauma and struggle these soldiers must go through, even with top rate medical care. At first, it was shocking to see and then I felt mostly helpless. I would leave the hospital feeling numb at times. But the spirit of a soldier is is suprisingly strong. We could all take a lesson from them about how to tough it out and get through.
